Project Description

The works were undertaken by United Utilities in the Preston area

The existing Franklaw Water Treatment Works required considerable upgrade work to meet new operational efficiency targets.

CivCo were involved in the scheme which required upgrade works to an additional eight satellite sites in the surrounding area.

Ensuring water supply was not interrupted was a key required of the Client.

CivCo successful carried out various design and build works to the site including the installation of large diameter pipework, valve chambers and building works

In order to ensure no interruption of supply the latest technology was used on various elements of the scheme including live hot tap-in work.

All reinforced concrete works were undertaken by our in-house steel fixing and shuttering team.

Contingency planning was a major consideration of the scheme with all scenarios considered to allow uninterrupted flows.

Various elements of the works were undertaken using 24 Hour working due to time constraints on certain parts of the network.

On completion of the scheme all works were successfully undertaken with no interruption to consumer supply at any stage
