PROJECT BRIEF
The Gortin Glens Mountain Bike Trail aimed to enhance outdoor recreation opportunities by developing 13.2 km of new mountain bike trails within Gortin Glens Forest Park. The project included the construction of approximately 7 km of red trails (advanced difficulty) and 6.2 km of blue trails (moderate difficulty), catering to a range of mountain biking enthusiasts.
Additionally, the project involved:
- Refurbishment of existing trails to improve ride quality and safety.
- Installation of marker posts, information panels and signage for wayfinding and trail information.
- Surface reinstatement using materials that matched the existing finishes, including bituminous, landscaped and brick-paved surfaces.
- To minimise disruption and maintain public access to the forest park, a phased construction approach was implemented. Close collaboration with council officers, traffic management teams and key stakeholders ensured efficient execution of the project.
