PROJECT BRIEF
The Maghera Public Realm and Environmental Improvement Scheme was a transformative regeneration project led by CivCo, aimed at revitalising Maghera’s town centre. Funded by over £9 million through the Levelling Up Fund, the project focused on improving infrastructure, enhancing public spaces and creating a more accessible, safe and inclusive environment. This scheme was designed to address both physical and socio-economic challenges in this vital commuter and commercial hub.
CivCo worked collaboratively with Mid Ulster District Council, DfI Roads, statutory bodies, local businesses, schools and community and disability groups to ensure the design and delivery of a high-quality, user-focused town centre upgrade. The scheme successfully balanced modernisation with functionality, preserving public access throughout the works while delivering long-term value to the community.
